Warriors help lead summer team to World Series semifinals

Thompson baseball players Jordon Chism, Steven Ward, Corey Kimbrel and Nick Bili recently helped lead the Over the Mountain Gold to a third place finish in the Dixie Pre-Majors World Series in Thomasville.

OTM opened the tournament with a 15-6 win over South Carolina, followed by a 9-1 victory over Thomasville on July 29. The Gold its first game on Tuesday, 11-10 to Lakenald, Fla., and was eliminated, 2-0, in Wednesday’s semifinals by eventual World Series champions Laural, Miss.
