2 killed in Alabama 145 wreck

SHELBY- Two Shelby County residents were pronounced dead at the scene of an accident eight miles south of Columbiana on Alabama 145 at 5:25 p.m. on Friday, April 21.

According to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the wreck involved two vehicles and claimed the lives of Carolyn Tucker, 70, of Montevallo, and Ryan Heath Harris, 30, of Columbiana, who were both occupants of Tucker’s 2001 Chevrolet Prizm.

Tucker and Harris were killed when the Chevrolet collided with a 2016 Kenworth Tractor Trailer. Neither of the occupants in the Chevrolet were wearing seatbelts. The driver of the trailer was not injured.

The press release stated that Alabama State Troopers will continue to investigate the accident.
