William Rasco, age 86, of Columbiana, passed away Sunday, July 12.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 14 at 10 a.m. at Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.
William, also known as “Pop”, has been a resident of Columbiana for 86 years and served as City councilman for 16 years. William loved the city of Columbiana along with all the sports teams. “Pop” was always there to cheer on the softball, basketball, baseball, and football teams. Pop loved to watch the kids play and support Shelby County High School.
William also attended First Baptist Church of Columbiana where he served as deacon and a teacher. More than anything, William loved being “Pop” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
William is preceded in death by his parents, Guzma and Eunice Rasco; sister, Venida Smith; and brothers, Welby Rasco, Wayne Rasco, Douglas Rasco.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Rasco; daughter, Kim Rasco King; grandchildren, Chad King (Brooke King), Carlyann King Wages (Walker Wages); great grandchildren, Everly King, Ella Horton, and Emma Horton, and many nieces and nephews.
